Global Yodel Postcard

Global Yodel is an amazing travel site that features things to do in tons of cities from the people who live there. Great idea, I know! This is why I jumped at the opportunity when Jesse of Global Yodel asked me to submit a postcard representing my home state of New Jersey. NJ just so happens to be the diner capitol of the world. I grew up in areas that were flooded with these 24 hour, All-You-Can-Eat places. So, I decided to focus on that aspect for this postcard. There were plenty others I considered. Some were magical and others not so magical - mostly unmagical. I love NJ but I do also love poking fun at the so called "Garden State"!

I decided to feature the name "N'Jais" on the diner sign as an ode to the famous bar, D'Jais, in Belmar NJ. Also, "Fresh" and "Down the Shore" are slang phrases you hear often hanging around these parts. The look was inspired by the retro 1960's vibe in a few NJ shore points I used to spend summers in as a kid.
